Gone Digital: Into the Vault

I'm sad. Since I haven't logged into Secret World in almost 2 weeks and with Borderlands 2 coming out today, I ended up cancelling my SW account for the foreseeable future. I know I will get back to it eventually but not sure when. Borderlands (the original) consumed quite a bit of time, and I have no doubt that number two will as well. Plus next month sees Dishonored and Assassin's Creed 3 both releasing. Because of this, it may be at least December before I get back to my Dragon.

WIR: Path of the Outcast

Next on the list: Path of the Outcast, book 3 of the Eldar Path trilogy. The first 2 books were a nice change of pace from the Imperial stories.

WIR: Blood of the City

The Priests of Mars turned out pretty well, as a story not necessarily in the story. (This is Warhammer 40k after all.) Next on the list is another Pathfinder Tales novel: Blood of the City.

It follows their trend of unusual main characters with having what they call a "cobblestone druid" or a druid that inhabits a city rather then wilderness. I may have said this before, but I'm really glad that Paizo has decided to take this path (pun intended) with their novels. I'm about two-thirds of the way done already and am really enjoying it.

Where's the Time Gone?

We took Riley to see his first movie Saturday: Nemo 3D. He sat through all but the last 15-20 minutes, at which point he started moving between seats.

It's been almost two weeks since I've played Secret Wars. Between Guild Wars 2, classes, family in town, and just life in general, I've not had extra time to play it. I could play SW instead of GW2, but I want to get some use out of the money I put in buying the game.

I also have a new class starting tomorrow: Functional Programming Principles in Scala. I know a little about Scala but have not really looked into it before. I'm looking forward to the class. I hope I just don't get overwhelmed by work and three classes (even if they are non-credit courses).

With Class: Back to School

Last week started 2 online classes for me over at CourseraModel Thinking and Introduction to Computational Finance and Financial Econometrics. These are not the first class I've taken there. That distinction belongs to Game Theory, which I already knew a little about but definitely learned a lot more. Last night I received an email that the first quiz for Model Thinking was posted so I'll do it today. I've not started the finance class videos yet (bad me), but they're on today's agenda too.

On a side note, I feel like crap. My day at work today may be a short one. I just hope I'm feeling better by the time for the Shadowrun game tonight.
