We took Riley to see his first movie Saturday: Nemo 3D. He sat through all but the last 15-20 minutes, at which point he started moving between seats.
It's been almost two weeks since I've played Secret Wars. Between Guild Wars 2, classes, family in town, and just life in general, I've not had extra time to play it. I could play SW instead of GW2, but I want to get some use out of the money I put in buying the game.
I also have a new class starting tomorrow: Functional Programming Principles in Scala. I know a little about Scala but have not really looked into it before. I'm looking forward to the class. I hope I just don't get overwhelmed by work and three classes (even if they are non-credit courses).

A Week Away
Well, yesterday Riley went to spend a week with Grandma, my mom. He has spent a couple days with her before, but this is the first time it's been a week. It's going to be rather quiet around the house for the next few days.
Angela and I finally managed to have the time to watch the "Hatfields & McCoys" mini series. It is just too adult for us to watch with Little Man around. We only got through the first two parts and will watch the last part tonight. I have to say that it's been a really intense and good show. I knew growing up that their feud was huge but never realized the extent of it until now.
Secret World is plagued by yet another bug; this time it's the chat system. I grouped with Brandon this Friday night for a little while, but most of the time we had to chat through Steam rather then in-game since SW's chat was completely fucked. It's really sad and disheartening to see a really good game marred by issues that should not exist. I can understand (but not accept) issues with their missions since some are not like those you would find in other MMOs. The chat system on the other hand should not have ANY issues. I'm not talking about linking items in chat or even filtering chat but generic chat functionality. When no type of chat is working between two people (not group, tells, or even local says), something is seriously wrong. After ~15 minutes of trying to get things working, we finally said "screw it" and logged to go eat. I really hope Funcom gets their act together and fixes these serious issues or SW will be a past issue for me.

Brave and Other Mentionables
Yesterday, Angela and I saw the movie Brave. I have to say, I enjoyed it a lot. While it is not my favorite movie of the year so far (that goes to The Avengers), it still ranks pretty high. I'm not going t say anything about it since I don't want to give anything away, but Ang has already decided she's going to pick it up when it comes out on DVD.
I will mention a couple of movies coming out later this year that we saw previews for before the movie. First, is Wreck-It Ralph. It's an Disney animated move about the bad guy from a video game not wanting to be a bad guy anymore. It looks pretty funny.
The second one is a movie that I've been very anxiously waiting for since it's announcement: The Hobbit. No matter how many times I watch this trailer, I get chills when the dwarves sing "Misty Mountains Cold". Can. Not. Wait.

Prometheus
I ended up seeing Prometheus yesterday. Overall, it was an enjoyable movie; but it had flaws. Without going into details, there were several parts where I felt that things could have been done better, both in the script as well as the directing. For instance, how can you get lost after you just used your super-duper mapping gadgets? Second, if you're going to infect someone, don't make it somewhat obvious by doing it right in their face. Anyway, the movie was an interesting attempt at an Alien prequel, but I do feel a little let down. I would have to rate this one a 7 out of 10.

E3 and Aliens
So E3 2012 is over. I watched some coverage on G4 on tv; but for the most part, I just got my E3 fix from online sources. Below are the titles (along with current level of interest) shown at E3 that I was mainly interested in. Some were already out there but a couple were announced there. I'm sure there are 1 or 2 others that are escaping me right now, but these are the main ones.
Star Wars 1313 (watch)
Dishonored (can't wait)
Neverwinter (watch)
Elder Scrolls Online (watch)
Watch Dogs (can't wait)
Assassin's Creed III (can't wait)
On another note, Prometheus starts today. This will be seen this weekend even if I have to go solo. As a prequel to one of my favorite movies, I just hope that it turns out well.

Limitless
Overall, this past weekend was a good one. Ang and I watched Limitless which turned out to be a pretty decent movie. For the most part, the main character did almost exactly what I would have done in his situation. I even called the ending about 20-30 minutes into the movie. Whether that means it was just that predictable or I'm just that awesome...well, I'm going awesome. Either way, it was entertaining.
I also finally got around to pinning Vasuro's arm back on her. I'm really not happy with the final outcome but at least it's back together and holding (for now). Next time I do a metal mini, I'm going to pin the pieces at the beginning whether it needs it or not.
On the Diablo front, I've managed to get the barb, hunter, and wizard all up to Doom in Wortham with the hunter a little beyond. I then started the witch doctor (MojoJojo) and got him to Reign of the Black King (Skeleton King here I come, again).
One last note, I picked up the updated version of the Tome of Ultimate Mapping. Since I had purchase the previous version just under a year ago, they (ProFantasy) sent me a voucher for this new version. So rather then full price, I only had to pay 5$. I can't wait to start playing around with CC3 again.

Movies and Games
Ok. So Ip Man 2 was not the next movie. That ended up being The Speed of Thought. I was not really sure how good is was going to be since I had not heard anything about it, but it turned out pretty well. For being a movie about telepathy and mental powers, it did a nice job of portraying them. It was a little cliche at times but nothing too bad.
On another note, I just watched the GTTV first look at the new Star Wars game: Star Wars 1313. In it you play a bounty hunter on Coruscant. I will have to keep my eyes on this one. I also saw the new Dishonoured over there too. That one is already on my list to pick up.

Martial Movies
Last night I watched Ip Man and the night before Shaolin. Both were really entertaining, full of great action, dialogue with a little humor thrown in. I think Ip Man 2 will be next on the list.
